Mixed Messages, Sculptures by Richard Bradley at Angell Street Galleries
Long-time maker of sparkly things, Richard Bradley will have his recent sculptures on exhibit at Angell Street Galleries from September 13-October 25, 2025. Richard in his own words, upon graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, I began a lengthy career as a jewelry designer/maker. But lately I’ve been creating automata sculptures that, although not wearable, still reflect my inclination toward embellishment and sparkle. Not unlike my jewelry, my sculptural objects are small and precious and because I like my pieces to interact with the body, I often include hand operated mechanical elements. Most of these works are joyful little monuments to fleeting thoughts and tantrums or elaborate reliquaries which hold various tokens of my life’s triumphs and traumas. With my latest show, “Mixed Messages” I share the secret thoughts, personal stories and hidden signals that can be triggered by precious inanimate possessions.
I'm very pleased and excited to announce that two of my pieces have been accepted into this juried show show at the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative
