This “Gadfly” talisman is designed to ward off pests and other distractions that prevent you from leading a cheerful and productive life. A gadfly refers to any of various flies, such as a stable fly or warble fly, that bite or annoy domestic animals and livestock. However, the term can also refer to a person who persistently annoys or provokes others with criticism, schemes, demands, requests, etc. In addition to the gadfly image on the pendant (because it takes one to know one) there’s a bead made of genuine onyx which is known to confuse and repel pests.
